Telling Your New Story

September 1, 2013

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.

Albert Ellis

It’s time to tell your new story and to let your old story go. Let’s start by identifying what you really want because as you create your new life by setting goals and taking action, you’ll no longer be focusing on what you don’t want or on your past; instead, you will be focusing on what you do want, where you are now, and your hopes and dreams for the future.

Who are you? What do you love? What makes you feel alive? These are all questions to ask yourself. You, and only you, are the creator of your future. Your whole life it has been you creating your reality all along.  You are your very own work of art.

When you think of yourself as happy, joyous, and fulfilled, what does that picture look like? What does that picture feel like? Think about your life areas: love, work, relationships, parenting, recreation, and your social and spiritual lives. What would a successful, balanced life look like to you? How would you spend your time? What would you be doing?  Feel the feelings you will feel as you begin to manifest this amazing vision; joy, love, contentment, achievement, knowing you are becoming everything you are destined to be.  Let your light shine bright!  Don’t be afraid of your potential!  Own it, share it and develop it.

When you go to bed at night, think about your new life, see yourself functioning at your very best and let this vision be the first thing you think about in the morning when you awake in the morning.

Start telling your new story to those around you.  Find others who are also creating their amazing lives and share your experiences with them and don’t forget….Optimists Rock!
